â–º Artistic Style? â—„
I studied documentary filmmaking at Illinois State University where I earned my Bachelor's in Mass Communication with an emphasis in Video Production. I shoot documentary style, often preferring to be handheld or utilizing a tripod (a videographer's best friend). I like to capture things as they happen naturally, rather than scripting every detail and telling you what to do. I would describe myself as an optimist. I'm always looking on the bright side. You'll find that my positive vibe takes away your nerves while being in front of the camera. My extensive experience in working over 2,500 live events allows me to be chill while working with you, and my kreative eye allows me to capture every single detail. I use a variety of cameras and am all Apple everything. My favorite camera is my Sony FX30.
Why is it
Totally Kreative?
My friends call me "TK" mostly because everyone knows several other Tylers.
But also because TK is a family nickname.
My father was the original TK and had two younger brothers also named with a T. My dad married my mom whose name also starts with a T, so they decided to keep it going by naming both me and my brother with a T. My grandmother passed away when I was six. So my brother and I also kept the tradition going in her honor. Between the two of us we have six sons, all whose names start with a T. Therefore, TK has now been family initials for three generations. Hence, I named my company Totally Kreative - TK.
Experience?
As a kid, I loved being in front of the camera. In high school, I took a broadcasting class that gave me the opportunity to get behind the camera. That was when I discovered my talent and passion for filmmaking. In college, I was on a reality show featured on GAC, where I met Keith Urban. I worked for ISU Athletics, as a director and camera operator for football, basketball, and volleyball games. I also worked live events for both TV and venues' jumbo-trons. I've worked at many arenas and sports venues in the midwest. I moved to Nashville to pursue working for Keith Urban and the music video industry. But my step-father was diagnosed with terminal cancer and I ultimately moved back home to be closer to my mom. I became the Director of Video Production at US Cellular Coliseum (now Grossinger Motors Arena) where I was in charge of the video, audio, and lighting for all live events. After my position was cut back to part-time, I founded Totally Kreative Video LLC. After writing a screenplay and considering moving to Hollywood, I felt God calling me in a different direction. In 2019, I went back to school and quit my job at the arena. My passion is to create films that encourage and inspire. I'm now launching a non-profit ministry, Magnify Ministries.
